What is Dr. Green Life all about?

Dr. Green Life is the passion project of Dr. Ashley Mayer who is a board certified naturopathic medical doctor, mother of two, and mission-driven entrepreneur. Dr. Mayer wants all families to have access to safe and effective supplements to support their health and well-being; hence, the birth of Dr. Green Life.

Should I do blood work before taking supplements?

We always recommend creating a supplement protocol in partnership with a health professional. Blood work may or may not be necessary based on their discretion. In general, most herbal and vitamin supplements do not require blood work prior to use with the exception of high doses of vitamins, minerals, and other nutraceuticals.

I’m new to supplements. Where is a good place to start?

General Product Questions
Where are your products made?

All products are made here in the U.S. Our manufacturer for herbals is in New Mexico. All skincare products are manufactured in a FDA registered and cGMP facility in Colorado. Probiotics are manufactured in Nevada. Nutraceuticals are manufactured in Arizona and Nevada. ALL products are manufactured in cGMP and FDA registered facilities.

Are your products made in an Allergen Free Facility?

Our products are manufactured on lines that do not include any common allergens - peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, dairy, or eggs. However, at times, we do use gluten and non-GMO soy containing ingredients. Please check product pages for exact information.

How do I know which products are gluten-free, dairy-free, kosher, vegan, etc?

All of our product labels are marked accordingly. Additionally, when shopping on our website, you can filter your results by categories that are important to you and your family.

It says to use my supplements within 90 days of opening. Are they no longer good after that?

We recommend using the product within 90 days of opening because that is the length of time that we guarantee its freshness. Think of it as a best-before date. Supplements may still be fine to use; use your best judgment. When in doubt, replace your supplements. Some powders (like Essential Immune Support - Infant & Kid) do not contain flow agents. After 90 days the powder may clump, so use within 90 days or discard.

How long can I take your supplements?

Our acute supplements are designed to be taken while symptoms are present. If symptoms persist for longer than 10 days, it is advised to consult a doctor. Our other supplements are safe and gentle enough for long term use. However, we often recommend changing up supplement protocols every 2-4 months unless otherwise advised by a healthcare provider.

I need help with dosing. What dose should I take?

Each product page offers dosing instructions. If by chance the label on your bottle does not match the label on the product page, always go by the label on the bottle.

Are these products safe to take in conjunction with conventional medication?

Natural health products often work on many of the same biologic pathways as conventional medication and are eliminated through many of the same routes, which means that there is potential for a drug interaction. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist before combining any natural products with conventional medication.

Do your supplements cause side effects?

Even though natural medicines are gentle, they can sometimes cause side effects, particularly in people who are sensitive to medications. Most common side effects are stomach upset and allergic reaction.

Can I take my kids’ supplements?

Yes, but you will go through them very quickly! Our infant & kids line of supplements is less concentrated than our adult line, so adults will need a higher dose for the same effect. If you’re pregnant or nursing, some of our kid supplements aren't recommended. Please check product labels before consuming.

Can I combine supplements?

Herbal products are formulated to be taken together. The acute use formulas can be taken together short term. If you’re combining products that contain vitamins and minerals, please consult a health professional and/or the National Institutes of Health Dietary Supplement Fact Sheets to be sure that you are not going over the recommended daily upper limit of any nutrient.

What if my child or I show a sensitivity to a product?

If you or your child show sensitivity, either cease using the product or reduce the dose and space out the dosing regimen. Please check product labels as some of our products are best taken with food.

What do I do if I’ve taken too much of a supplement?

Our products are non-toxic when taken as directed on the label. In large doses, please contact your local poison control department for advice.

What is the vegetable glycerin in your products derived from?

Our vegetable glycerin is derived from palm kernel fruit. Our certified organic vegetable glycerin is sourced from mustard seed, flaxseed, sunflower seed, and/or coconut.

What is the difference between your liquid extract capsules and powdered herb capsules?

Liquid extract capsules are more potent than powdered herb capsules. Our liquid extracts contain approximately 1000 mg of plant medicine while our powdered capsules contain approximately 500 mg (see labels for specific amounts as these vary slightly between products).

What kind of extracts do you use for flavoring? Are they synthetic?

Though we avoid flavoring when possible, sometimes herbs have an unpleasant taste that is difficult for kids to consume without flavoring. We always choose natural extracts for flavoring, and our most common choice is elderberry juice.

What products need to be refrigerated?

Upon arrival, probiotics should be refrigerated unless the label states otherwise. Our probiotics have been tested for product potency for up to 4 weeks without refrigeration. 

Our fish oil liquid should be refrigerated after opening and consumed within 90 days. If your fish oil has not been refrigerated for longer than 72 hours, please be aware that we do not recommend you continue taking it. Fish oil capsules are shelf stable and keeping them in the freezer is a great idea to prolong shelf life! 

All herbal and other products are shelf stable until their expiration date, which can be found on the product bottle.

Specific Product Questions
Can I give my child VaxClear even if their vaccines were from a while ago?

While it is recommended to dose VaxClear around the time of vaccination, VaxClear may also be used as a gentle daily detox.

I have a question about a specific product. Who can I reach out to?

Answers to questions about specific products can be found on each product page, including ingredients, dosing, age recommendations, etc. Our customer service team members are not medical providers, so if you have a medical question about a product, please contact your healthcare provider directly.

Can my husband (or any other adult) take the Mother’s Line?

Yes! Our Mother’s Line was formulated with mothers in mind but is appropriate for any adult.

Why are some of the infant and children’s products not recommended during lactation?

Some herbs may decrease milk supply when taken during lactation. While it wouldn’t be unsafe for a baby to consume these via breastmilk, it may make breastfeeding more difficult. 

Does Methyl Factors pass through breast milk?

Yes, it does pass through breast milk; however, the amount varies by person and dose. Please reach out to a trusted healthcare provider prior to starting a new supplement regimen.

Why is my Kids Essential Immune Support clumping?

We don't use silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, or other flow agents in our infant products. On the product label, we recommend to use this product within 90 days of opening to prevent clumping. Storing it in the freezer may also help prevent clumping.

Why is the Kids Essential Immune Support vibrant yellow?

The yellow in this product is from Quercetin, and its vibrancy may vary from batch to batch.

I have heard that binders are important to detox heavy metals. What are the binders in Vaxclear?

Binders shouldn’t be used in small children as they bind not only heavy metals but also important vitamins and minerals. We use herbs to help move waste through and out of the liver and kidneys.

How much iron is in your beef liver capsules?

One serving of our beef liver capsules is equivalent to about a serving of beef liver. Due to regulations, we aren’t allowed to provide this information. You may look up a serving of beef liver online and see the approximate amount of iron.

What is the source of tocopherol in Neuroimmune DHA?

We use a GMO free ingredient called oxy bloc, which helps stabilize the oil in the product and protect it from oxidation.

Can Aller D-Hist be used for watery and itchy eyes?

This product supports lowering histamine. For watery and itchy eyes, it is helpful but is generally not fast acting. It will need to be taken for at least a week to notice the effects.

Herbal Questions
Where and how do you source your herbs?

Our herbs are organically grown, ethically wild harvested, or selectively imported. We do not use threatened botanicals such as Echinacea, Goldenseal, or Ginseng from the wild. Instead, we support local certified organic growers for these and other endangered crops. The select group of wild harvesters for our products understand the value in ethical wild harvesting and preserving the environment. How did you decide which herbs to put into the Mother’s Line of supplements?

Creating a line of products specifically for mothers was a labor of love! Each herb that we chose went through a rigorous selection process. We did extensive research about its documented use in pregnancy and lactation (either in traditional medicine or contemporary research), real or theoretical contraindications, and efficacy. Our final selections were checked against the gold standard of safety, the Botanical Safety Handbook, and were not found to have contraindications during pregnancy and lactation. However, all medicine, including herbal medicine, carries risks that are higher during pregnancy and lactation. Always speak to your doctor before starting a supplement.

I have your herbal tinctures and I see that it says ‘drops’ in the dosing instructions. Does this mean drops or droppers?

This means literally one drop.

What is a glycerite tincture?

Glycerite tinctures are sweet and alcohol free. The medicinal components of herbs are extracted into glycerin to make them more potent, easier to consume, and tasty.

Third Party Testing & Quality assurance
What type of testing and quality assurance do you do?

Our manufacturers do stability testing, heavy metal testing, and microbial testing. We outsource our heavy metals and glyphosate testing to a third party lab, Eurofins. We outsource our GMO testing to the Non-GMO Project. All raw ingredients are tested for GMOs, gluten, soy, and dairy prior to production. Some of our products do contain non-GMO soy and/or gluten, so please consult each product page for more information. We are a non-GMO and glyphosate-tested company.

Why are some products USDA organic certified but not all?

We always choose USDA organic herbs and raw materials where available; however, some herbs are not available USDA Organic certified (ie. wild crafted). As a company, we chose to prioritize efficacy over organic status.

What does it mean to be a glyphosate-free company?

We test 100% of our eligible products for glyphosate via a third party lab, Eurofins. We chose the lowest limit of quantity (LOQ) for testing - 100 ppb (100 ng/g). This is the gold standard for glyphosate testing.

What does it mean to be a non-GMO company?

All raw ingredients that we use are certified non-GMO. Further, we have gone through rigorous qualifications through the Non-GMO Project.

Subscriptions
How do I make changes to my subscription?

We have a new subscription platform that is easy to customize and update. Please log in to your subscription dashboard to make changes. If you need further assistance, reach out to support@drgreenlifeorganics.com

Can I return my subscription order?

Yes, you can return your order. Please keep in mind that we do not refund shipping and do charge a 20% restocking fee for returned subscription orders.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel a subscription, simply log into your subscription dashboard and follow the cancellation instructions. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to your next shipment. We do send email reminders 48 hours prior to shipment so that you have time to cancel if needed.

Shipping & Return
Does Dr. Green Life ship internationally?

We currently ship to Australia, Canada, and the United States. We have plans to ship worldwide soon.

Can I add a product to an order I’ve already placed to avoid a double shipping charge?

We cannot add to an order. Orders can be combined as long as our fulfillment team hasn’t already packed the initial order. Reach out to customer service, support@drgreenlifeorganics.com, as soon as possible. We can’t make any promises, but we always do our best!

Do you accept returns of opened or unopened products?

We only accept returns of unopened products if sent within 30 days of delivery as shown on your tracking number. There is a 20% restocking fee for all returned subscription orders. Contact support@drgreenlifeorganics.com for more information.

How do I return an item or order for a refund?

We accept returns of items within 30 days of delivery to your home, according to USPS tracking. Please repack the product in its shipping box and clearly mark “Returns” on the box. Kindly return the product to the following address: Specialty Fulfillment Center. 224 Carnation Dr. Nampa, ID 83687. Once we receive your return, we will process and give you a refund minus shipping. Please note, we do not offer prepaid return shipping labels. If you have a subscription order you’d like to return, please remember there is a 20% restocking fee. We also do not refund shipping for a returned subscription order.

My order came damaged or leaking. Can I get a replacement?

We offer Route's Green Package Protection on all orders.

Route Package Protection is a package protection solution that helps cover your order in the event that your order gets lost, stolen, or damaged while in transit while also protecting the planet. We highly recommend you include Route Package Protection with your order as we cannot guarantee refund or replacement if the package gets lost, stolen or damaged. More on Route below.

Do you send partial orders?

We rarely send orders in two separate shipments. This is sometimes due to an accidental short ship or a backordered item. Please reach out to customer service at support@drgreenlifeorganics.com with questions about your order. If the item was a short ship, we will promptly ship the item and send tracking information once shipped. Backordered items will automatically be shipped to you once they are in stock.

How does Green Package Protection/Carbon Neutral Shipping work?

Route has partnered with Patch, a carbon credit marketplace, to facilitate the purchase of carbon

Once your order has been fulfilled by our team, a shipping confirmation with a tracking number will be emailed. You can download  Route’s mobile app for iOS or Android to visually track your package and receive real-time notifications on its estimated delivery.

How Does Route Work?

If your Route-protected order ends up lost, damaged, or stolen, Route’s expert support team helps ensure that your order gets replaced or refunded as preferred. Claims will be reviewed for approval within 1-2 business days from filing.

How Does Route Process Refunds or Reorders?

Refunds: When refunding an item, Route covers the subtotal, shipping, and taxes if the merchant has Automatic Issue Resolution enabled. 

In both cases, the Route Premium cost will not be refunded. 

Reorders: Route will reorder the items, depending on in-stock availability. Unavailable items will be
refunded. Route will cover the cost of any reorders including shipping, taxes, and Route Shipping Protection.

When Should I File a Claim?

Marked As Delivered (Stolen)

Claims will be reviewed no earlier than 5 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from when it was marked delivered.

Please note, some order issues may require a police report to be filed.

Stuck In Transit (Lost)

For domestic orders, claims will be reviewed no earlier than 2 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last update. The maximum filing time is 365 days from the order date.

For international orders, claims will be reviewed no earlier than 20 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last update.

The maximum filing time is 365 days from the order date.

Damaged

Claims for damaged items require photos of the packaging and item(s) and must be filed no later than 30 calendar days from when it was marked delivered.

What if My Order Never Arrives or is Stolen?

Route definitely helps cover these instances! To protect your order against loss or theft, add Green Package Protection at checkout.

How Do I File a Claim for my Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Order?

If you insured your order with Route at checkout, you will receive a confirmation email from Route with a link to file a shipping issue.

You can also file a shipping issue on Route’s app or via the web here. To file a claim, you will need your store order number OR Route ID number and the email address that was attached to the order.

Is Route a Licensed Insurance Company?

While Route itself is not an insurance company, Route is authorized to provide access to shipping insurance. It does this through its entity, Safe Order Solutions, which is licensed to sell the shipping insurance issued by Seg Insurance Ltd. This makes Route's Protect product legal and compliant for brands to offer as shipping insurance to their customers.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Can I use my HSA to purchase my order?

Yes, if your HSA allows for supplement purchases. We do not give you a separate invoice for HSA, however, so you'll need to ask your insurance company what is covered.

Are discount codes stackable? Will they work with other discounts?

Our discount codes are not stackable unless otherwise noted.

I placed an order just before a sale. Can I get the discount?

Unfortunately, we don't offer retroactive discounts. However, if you’d like a discount in the future, please join our email list and watch for weekend discount codes.
