A boy takes some medicine while laying in bed.

For centuries, herbal remedies have been a trusted tool for gently supporting the body’s natural healing processes. Temperature Tamer™ and Nature Profen™ Kids are two carefully crafted remedies that provide natural support for various health needs.

Having your child feel unwell is stressful enough, so choosing the right herbal remedy shouldn’t add to your stress! Temperature Tamer™ and Nature Profen™ Kids are two carefully crafted options that provide natural support for different needs. This article guides parents on how to confidently choose between these two medicine cabinet staples, when to use them, and how to combine them effectively to help your kids manage occasional discomfort.

Why Use Herbal Remedies For Kids

For centuries, herbal remedies have been a trusted tool for gently supporting the body’s natural healing processes. At Dr. Green Life, we combine this time-honored wisdom with modern science and rigorous oversight to create safe, effective options for the whole family. Numerous studies have shown that many herbal remedies are more effective than a placebo in providing temporary relief for occasional symptoms that come up in day-to-day life (1-5), making them an excellent choice for providing gentle support during mild symptoms and routine home care. ✝︎

Occasional low grade fevers and physical discomfort are among the common concerns parents aim to address with safe, natural options at home. Temperature Tamer™ and Nature Profen™ Kids are our thoughtfully formulated solutions for these moments. Let’s take a closer look at these herbal remedies, their ingredients, and how to decide which one to use when your child needs comfort and support. ✝︎

Temperature Tamer™: Gently Supportive Of The Fever Response

To understand what makes Temperature Tamer™ so great, it’s important to first consider the purpose of a fever in the body. Fevers are a natural immune response, signaling that the body is working to fight off an illness or infection.

Many parents understandably feel the urge to use medication to reduce a fever; however, in most cases, fevers don’t need to be suppressed unless they are causing significant discomfort or reaching concerning levels. That doesn’t mean we can’t offer the body a little support, which is where Temperature Tamer™ comes in!

Temperature Tamer™ is a remedy designed to provide comfort during times of mild illness or discomfort without artificially lowering a fever. It gently supports the immune system, encourages relaxation, and provides a gentle cooling sensation, helping your child feel at ease while their body works to heal. ✝︎

One of its key ingredients, elderflower, is known for its mild diaphoretic properties, meaning it can encourage gentle sweating to support the body’s natural temperature regulation. Combined with other soothing, cooling herbs like catnip and lemon balm, Temperature Tamer™ is a medicine cabinet staple. ✝︎

Key Ingredients:

  • Organic Lemon Balm Aerial Parts
  • Organic Catnip Herb

  • Organic Elderflower

  • Organic Chamomile flower

Best For:

  • Supporting comfort during a mild fever without interfering with the body’s natural response. ✝︎
  • Encouraging restful sleep when illness disrupts normal routines. ✝︎

  • Easing minor aches and chills that occasionally accompany mild fevers. ✝︎

  • Supporting the body’s natural immune process during recovery. ✝︎

Nature Profen™: Herbal Support For Physical Discomfort

Unlike Temperature Tamer™, which is formulated to support the body during fevers ✝︎, Nature Profen™ Kids focuses on supporting a healthy inflammatory response and easing occasional discomfort, such as that associated with teething, growing pains, minor headaches, post-activity soreness, and more. ✝︎

  • Organic Lemon Balm Aerial Parts
  • Organic Yarrow Leaf & Flower

  • Organic Fennel Seed

  • Organic Turmeric Root

  • Organic Spilanthes Flowering Herb

  • Organic Ginger Root

  • Organic Black Pepper Fruit

Combining Herbal Remedies for Kids

While Temperature Tamer™ and Nature Profen™ Kids are designed to address different needs, they can work harmoniously in situations where your child is experiencing overlapping symptoms. For example, a child with a low-grade fever paired with discomfort from throat irritation can benefit from the combined support of these remedies. ✝︎

How to safely and effectively combine these herbal remedies:

All of our herbal remedies are safe to use together at their full recommended strengths as indicated on their labels for up to one week at a time.

If your child requires extended support for overlapping symptoms, it’s important to stay within their combined maximum dose. This may involve adjusting each remedy proportionally to adhere to a combined maximum dose. Meaning:

  • If two remedies both recommend 5–10 drops twice daily, your child’s total dose across both products should not exceed 10 drops twice daily. Adjust the dosages of each remedy so their combined dose stays within this limit by reducing the daily dose of supplement 1 slightly to make room for a slightly reduced daily dose of supplement 2.

Please note that generally speaking, a fever lasting more than 4-5 days or bothersome physical discomfort lasting beyond a week in a child is reason enough to seek medical guidance. Please consult your child’s doctor for guidance if symptoms persist beyond a week.
