Herbal Detox Support For Kids: When To Use VaxClear®, Detox Junior™ & Metal Mend™

A group of kids hugging each other.

VaxClear®, Detox Junior™, and Metal Mend™ are three herbal blends designed to meet a variety of detox needs for kids.

Our bodies are innately equipped with natural detoxification systems that help eliminate everyday toxins. However, modern environments and lifestyles can sometimes place extra demand on these pathways, and that’s where additional herbal detox support can make a meaningful difference.✝︎

VaxClear®Detox Junior™, and Metal Mend™ are three herbal blends designed to meet a variety of detox needs.✝︎ In this article, we’ll break down the differences among these formulas and share tips on when to reach for each one.

Herbal Detox Support For Kids: How To Choose a Remedy

Detoxification is the body’s way of handling harmful substances by first converting them into less dangerous forms (phase I detoxification) and then removing them from the bloodstream (phase II detoxification), tissues, and organs (1). Key bodily systems involved in detoxification processes include the liver, kidneys, and digestive tract.

Certain factors like vaccinations, environmental exposures (e.g., wildfires), illness, medications, and travel can add to the body’s detoxification workload (2).✝︎ Research indicates that proper nutrition plays a key role in supporting our natural detoxification processes (3).✝︎ Plant-based herbal remedies can shine in this role, offering support in controlled dosages without overburdening the body.✝︎

For children, our targeted blends like VaxClear®, Detox Junior™, and Metal Mend™ can provide gentle and kid-friendly herbal detox support.✝︎ All three of these remedies feature organic chlorella as their primary ingredient—renowned for its natural cleansing properties✝︎ (4)—but each pairs chlorella with a unique combination of organic herbs to meet different needs.

Understanding when to use each remedy will help you get the most out of these formulas. We’ll start by breaking down the purpose and key actions of each.

VaxClear® With Aluminum Guard™ — Neuroimmune Support & Gentle Detox Support✝︎

VaxClear® With Aluminum Guard™ is our go-to herbal support for little ones around vaccination time. Doctor developed and formulated, it is designed to help gently open detox pathways, balance inflammation, and support the neuroimmune system.✝︎

Thoughtful Organic Ingredients:

  • Broken Cell Wall Chlorella – A single-celled freshwater algae renowned for its ability to bind metals and support the body’s detox processes (4).✝︎
  • Acerola – Naturally high in vitamin C, which supports immune function and antioxidant activity (5).✝︎

  • Turmeric – An antioxidant-rich root known to help support a balanced inflammatory response (6).✝︎

  • Rosehip Fruit – Rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, rosehip supports healthy inflammatory and immune responses (7).✝︎

  • Milk Thistle Seed – Traditionally used to support liver function, milk thistle seed is supportive of the process by which the body breaks down and removes toxins (8).✝︎

  • Nettle Leaf – Apart from being rich in nutrients, this herb also gently helps encourage effective elimination through the urinary system (9).✝︎

  • Oatstraw Aerial Parts – Oatstraw is valued by herbalists for its nutrient content and its potential to support overall well-being and a balanced mood (10,11).✝︎

  • Burdock Root – A favorite for supporting lymphatic flow and overall maintained health (12).✝︎

  • Cilantro Leaf – Traditionally used to support the body in detoxifying heavy metals (13).✝︎

  • Parsley Leaf – Commonly used to promote kidney function and fluid balance (14).✝︎

Best For:

  • Infants and young children who need extra detox support, especially around vaccination time.✝︎

Detox Junior™ — General Detox & Wellness✝︎

Detox Junior™ is perfect for supporting everyday detox and overall wellness in kids. It is formulated to be gentle on developing systems and helps balance occasional inflammation, making it a potentially beneficial addition after an illness or medication, or as part of a seasonal cleanse.✝︎

Thoughtful Organic Ingredients:

  • Broken Cell Wall Chlorella – Highly regarded for the way in which it supports the body in managing metals (4). “Broken cell wall” refers to a specialized process in which the tough outer layer of the chlorella plant is gently cracked, making its beneficial components more readily accessible (15).✝︎
  • Turmeric Root – Helps maintain a balanced inflammatory response (6).✝︎

  • Marshmallow Root – Traditionally used to soothe the digestive tract and support healthy mucous membranes (16).✝︎

  • Yellow Dock Root – A bitter herb often used to gently support natural elimination processes (17).✝︎

  • Burdock Root – A classic botanical for promoting lymphatic flow (12).✝︎

  • Fennel Seed – Commonly used to help with digestion and support gastrointestinal comfort (18).✝︎

  • Ginger Root – Known for its warming properties, ginger also supports healthy inflammatory responses and smooth digestion (19).✝︎

Best For:

  • General detox support in healthy children.✝︎
  • Mild cleansing after an illness, medication, or during a change of seasons.✝︎

  • A gentle approach to supporting digestive health.✝︎

Metal Mend™ — Targeted Heavy Metal Detox Support✝︎

Metal Mend™ is formulated for older children and adults (including pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, when necessary) who desire a more targeted approach to supporting detoxification.✝︎ This formula contains higher doses of metal-binding herbs, plus antioxidant herbs that help maintain cellular health while still supporting the liver and detox pathways.✝︎

Thoughtful Organic Ingredients:

  • Broken Cell Wall Chlorella – Provides natural cleansing support and helps bind metals (4).✝︎
  • Cilantro Leaf – A top choice for supporting the body’s heavy metal cleansing processes (13).✝︎

  • Horsetail Herb – A source of naturally occurring silica that supports effective elimination (20).✝︎

  • Acerola Fruit – Rich in vitamin C for antioxidant and immune support (5).✝︎

  • Marshmallow Root – Helps maintain healthy mucous membranes and gastrointestinal health (16).✝︎

  • Maitake Fruiting Body Extract – A mushroom extract that supports a balanced immune response (21,22).✝︎

  • Garlic Bulb – Garlic is supportive of healthy immune function and a balanced inflammatory response (23).✝︎

Best For:

  • Older children (typically school-age and up) who need stronger detox support.✝︎
  • Adults looking for an herbal approach to supporting detoxification from heavier environmental exposures.✝

Combining These Remedies: What You Need To Know

Generally, VaxClear®, Detox Junior™, and Metal Mend™ are not typically combined with one another. However, they can be combined with other Dr. Green Life herbal remedies—such as PooMotion™, Nature's Nutrients™, TummEase™, Immunity Boost™, or Peace & Calm™—to address separate wellness goals at the same time (e.g., digestive support, nutrient intake, immune health, or mood and relaxation). When combining our herbal supplements for over two weeks at a time, be mindful of the maximum combined daily dose to avoid over-supplementation. This means that the total amount your child receives from all formulas together should not exceed the highest recommended dose of any single formula, unless a qualified healthcare provider advises otherwise.

Example:

If Remedy A’s daily dose is 5–10 drops, and Remedy B’s daily dose is also 5–10 drops, and you are using them combined for more than two weeks, you might decide to give 5 drops of each per day (total of 10 drops), but you wouldn’t give 10 drops of each at the same time (total of 20 drops) without professional guidance.

Quick Reference For Choosing Between VaxClear®, Detox Junior™, & Metal Mend™

Summary
